PROSPECTUS OF NEPAL TOURISM YEAR 2011

Government of Nepal in consultation with Nepalese travel trade sector and concerned organizations/experts decided on October 25, 2008 to launch a national tourism campaign "Nepal Tourism Year 2011". This announcement reflects the government’s anticipation to bring into Nepal at least one million international tourists by the year 2011 and tourism industry’s exigency to organize a tourism

promotion campaign for wider impact.

With the badge of adventure destination glittering and the adage “Atithi Devo Bhava” (Guests are Gods) embedded in our culture, the portfolio of tourism products never cease to mesmerize the visitors. The unparallel cultural, geographical, ethnic and bio diversities of the country allure visitors to Nepal time and again which truly substantiates the spirit of Nepal tourism brand ‘Naturally Nepal, once is not enough !'

The concept of Nepal Tourism Year 2011 envisions harnessing these opportunities and strengths and bringing together the commitment of the government, expertise and experiences of the organizations like Nepal Tourism Board, aptitude and dynamism of the private sector and communities for further tourism development in the country. Representation and active participation from the major political parties, members of the Constitution Assembly and Right groups is always taken into prominence in order to make the campaign inclusive and participatory in modus operandi and effective in result.                  After this declaration ,the number of tourists visiting Nepal are increasing day by day.According to the Tribhuvan Airport ,four hundred twenty one thousand nine hundred two (421,902)have visited nepal within this year.This is the maximum record of tourist visiting Nepal.

There is no accurate data on when this disease was first discovered but many intellectuals predict that it might have discovered after the formal education system.Today about 69% of world population have been infected with this disease.This infected people are ranging from child of 3 years attending schools to old people of 60+ attending universities.

4. Causes:This disease attacks people mainly due to irregularity,carelessness,bunking classes and over confidence.It also occurs only when the victim is physically present in the class.
5. Effects:On seeing the question paper,the victim becomes nervous and sweats a lot.If the paper is tough,he curses the teacher.There is a lot of excitement at the first sight of the paper.The heart beats at the rate of 100beats per minute.
6. Treatment:There is no proper treatment for this disease .A remedy is yet to be discovered .However being attentive in the class and concentration on work will help prevent this disease.

World's shortest man appointed as peace ambassador

Nepali Khagendra Thapa Magar , the world´s smallest teenager was officially declared the world´s smallest man. He was born in Nepal´s Baglung district in 1992.Three rounds of tests done on Magar  showed him to be 67.08 centimetres tall and weigh about 6 kilograms.Magar´s parents sold fruits and vegetables before the boy gained his celebrity status.
"´We also hope to register him as the lightest man in the world and for the smallest hand and feet in the Guinness World Records," said Min Bahadur Thapa of the Khagendra Thapa Magar Foundation, who has been campaigning for last four years to register Magar in the records book.
        Afer this offical declaration ,Nepal Government has appointed him as a peace and goodwill ambassador for Nepal Tourism Year 2011.After this declaration thapa would be getting Nrs.50,000 aid if he visit any country representing Nepal.He represented in Sanghai expo held at China.

Ms. Anuradha Koirala is the Founder and Executive Director of Maiti Nepal. Born in Nepal and former English teacher at budhanikantha boarding school,kathmandu,Nepal. Ms. Koirala started Maiti Nepal in a small house in Kathmandu with her own savings. Today she is a widely recognized activist and lecturer who has dedicated her life to combating the sexual explotation of woman and children.

                                                              
Her accomplishments have been recognized through numerous awards. Her work is often dangerous and requires great personal sacrifice. The criminal elements that "deliver" young girls are a ruthless enemy and have political connections at the highest levels in India and Nepal. Maiti Nepal's main office in Kathmandu has been destroyed twice and Maiti workers must travel with a bodyguard when overseeing rescue missions in India.
Her commitment has been an inspiration to her largely volunteer staff. Most of the workers are rescued girls and young women who are healthy enough to work. "They need little incentive from me," states Ms Koirala. "They are working to help their sisters and they know the horror of the victims." She adds, "Society rejects me and my girls, but they are the most important thing in my life." 
   A panel comprised of luminaries recognised for their own dedication to public service selected this year's top 10 CNN Heroes, according to CNN.com. The names were chosen from more than 10,000 nominations submitted by viewers in 100 countries.
                                    Each of the top CNN Heroes bagged a purse of USD 25,000 and were honoured at "CNN Heroes: An All-Star Tribute," airing from the Shrine Auditorium in Los Angeles, California, at 8 p.m. ET/PT on Thanksgiving night, November 25, according to CNN.com.

The global broadcast  announced the CNN Hero of the Year, selected by the public in an online poll that began at 1 p.m. ET Thursday.

Viewers could go to CNNHeroes.com to participate in the poll, which continues through November 18 at 6 a.m. ET.

One of the ten nominees receiving the most votes would won an additional USD 100,000.

CULTURAL DISTRACTION IN NEPAL

"NEPAL";country famous for its culture through out the world is facing a severe problem of westernisation.Many people want to be the part of this campaign and a very few people who love their culture are taken as uncivilised and statoquiost.Nepalese who used to enjoy in rodi are addicted to disco.Unpleasant western songs have replaced charming cultural songs.similarly there is distraction in each and every fields.Now i would like to join some incidents which struck my mind.                                   

               Incidents:

1. many parents want to teach English language since their childhood.many educational institutions have implemented English speaking zone in their institution premises.As a result children get less opportunity to get used to with their mother tongue.
2. Toady's youth give more importance to western festivals&cultures.If u ask them about "shrawn sankrati"to them,they mayn't know but if u ask about "valentines day",they can give every details about it.
3. Many people go to disco than rodisaj.
4. Cultural dresses have been replaced by western dresses.
5. Cultural books are taken as worm eaten books by the youths and they have been kept in some corners of museum.
6. In Nepal many culturally valuable things are theft from museum.In this act so called high class people are involved.

We are Nepali because of our culture.So I request all to work putting hand to hand for the conservation,promotion and development of our culture.
